YEREVAN. – The situation has been tense for already 18 hours in Erebuni district of Yerevan after an armed group stormed a police station and took hostages.
Police and national security service have surrounded the area.
Nothing has changed for several hours, the police are accumulating forces, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reported from the site.
Earlier deputy chief of Armenia's police Hunan Poghosyan said there was no order to attack, and the police will continue to negotiate to find a peaceful solution.
As reprted earlier, Colonel of the regiment Arthur Vanoyan was killed, other four police officers were injured. The armen med demand release of opposition activist Jirair Sefilian.
