Not a single country can expect joining the EU if it introduces death penalty, the head of the EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini stated, The Daily Mail reported.

 “Let me be very clear... no country can become an EU state if it introduces the death penalty”, she said.

Earlier, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim announced possibility of consideration in parliament of the constitutional law on introduction of the death penalty for participants of the attempted coup in the country.
