YEREVAN. – A meeting on Karabakh in August under the mediation of Russian President Vladimir Putin is being discussed, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills said at the American University of America on Wednesday.

However, the precise date and place of the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders has not been determined yet, he added.

“The discussion must be held between three Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the governments of two countries to set a day for a meeting in August,” Mr. Mills said.

The Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents met in Vienna on May 16 after the April escalation of the situation at the line of contact. Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Secretary of State John Kerry and French Minister of state for European affairs Harlem Desir and Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
