YEREVAN. – Armenia’s national security service (NSS) will continue taking measures to resume talks unilaterally halted by the armed group on July 23.

In particular, it is proposed to transfer a wounded member of the group to the hospital, however, the offer was rejected, security service said in a statement.

Another group, which contributed to “Sasna Tsrer”, has been disclosed. According to information received, the truck transporting an armed group was stolen and the driver was threated with reprisals against his family. Individual members of the group incited accomplices outside the seized headquarters to break through the police cordon and get captured their weapons with the help of Molotov cocktails.

The national security service said there are still ways for a peaceful solution, and urged all members of the armed groups to immediately cease criminal activity, lay down their arms and surrender.

“We remind you of an inevitable punishment that will be determined by the nature and severity of the consequences of each individual member of the group. Persons who reject criminal intentions may be exempt from criminal liability. On July 25 the members of the group were given a written explanation. The sequence of the required actions and the way how group can surrender was explained,” the statement reads.
