YEREVAN. - Charges have been brought against the member of Sansa Tsrer armed group Ashot Petrosyan, who has been wounded as a result of the shootout between the police and the group at 2 a.m. Tuesday night.

While ago the court chose arrest as a preventive measure against him.  

Petrosyan’s attorney Arayik Papikyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that he has been involved as an attorney since the morning, but for unknown reasons Petrosyan has been provided with a public defender.

Petrosyan’s daughter, Tatevik, told Armenian News – NEWS.am that Petrosyan has expressed a wish to appear in court.

As reported earlier, a shootout took place between the police and Sasna Tsrer armed group members.

At around 2 a.m., a vehicle moved in the direction of Erebuni police department from the area of captured regiment. When the car was close to the cordon, the police opened fire on the engine, and retaliatory shots were heard out of the car. The police then opened fire at the wheels.

Two of the three men sitting in the car were injured in their legs, but managed to return to the territory of the regiment.

Law enforcement officers immediately summoned medical team and offered to take the wounded to the hospital. The group agreed, two wounded - Ashot Petrosyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan – are hospitalized.
