Ankara highly appreciates the call of the Russian leader to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the unsuccessful coup d’état. Russia’s support proved to be very strong, Turkish PM Mehmet Şimşek said, RIA Novosti reports.  

In his words, immediately following the day of the coup d’état, Russia showed the most serious support, stressing its adherence to the legitimate government of Turkey.  “We indeed highly appreciate the call of the Russian Federation President to the President of the Turkish Republic. This support proved to be very strong,” he added.
