YEREVAN. - Two more people have been charged with assisting the Sasna Tsrer armed group which has seized the Erebuni police station in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Attoney Hovik Arsenyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that his client Taron Loryan was today arrested for two months. According to the attorney, Loryan answered a call from an unknown number, but no conversation took place.  The preliminary investigation found that he might have had a coded conversation with the armed group and thus brought a charge against him. Loryan doesn’t plead guilty.

Hovik Aresnyan’s another client, Samson Gabrielyan, who was arrested on July 23, doesn’t plead guilty either. In the attorney’s words, Gabrielyan has been charged with going to Sari Tagh on July 19 to assure the local residents that he was not an undercover police officer. He had phoned Sasna Tsrer member Pavel Manukyan and told him they were surrounded, also advising to be careful about the food sent.

According to Arsenyan, the arrest of his clients is unjustified. He expressed hope that they will be set free after the situation is settled down.

It’s already the 10th day the armed group has seized the Erebuni Police Station in Yerevan.
