The Investigative Department of Special Importance Cases continues preliminary investigation of  disorders that occurred on July 20 .

The Investigative Committee informed the NEWS.am that based on the evidences obtained during the investigation, 6 people were charged in accordance with the Article 225 part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, that is, participation in mass disorders accompanied by destruction of property and violence against the police officers. The investigator submitted a motion on applying the arrest as a precautionary measure to the court, which was accepted.

As reported earlier, the criminal cases were initiated based on the results of the investigation on riots held by a group of 20 demonstrators on July 20, which was accompanied by destruction of property and use of violence against the police officers who were performing their duties.  According to preliminary investigation, 62 people who were present at the riots, got various injuries and applied for medical assistance: 37  policemen and 25 civilians. Thus, as of July 27, 12 people were charged for the disorders. The police is taking necessary, comprehensive, and objective investigative actions, in order to ensure a full investigation. The results of the investigation will be informed regularly.
