Typhoon Nida approaching the south of China creats predicaments for Guangdong Province and Zhujiang estuary, which is  of great importance  to the local economy, announced the provincial headquarters of flood , drought and typhoon , reports Xinhua .

Zhujiang River Delta Region, which is notable with high population and a high level of economic development, is the most vulnerable place in Guangdong from the viewpoint of typhoons’ threat .

Typhoon Nida, which is expected to arrive to the coast of Guangdong in the morning or in the afternoon of August 2, can bring not only rain and wind, but also provoke strong waves and storm tides of the sea, which is threatening for the coastal areas and causes severe floods in the cities.

In connection with the approaching typhoon the headquarters has operated a an immediate response mechanism to emergency situations. Inspection teams are sent to the areas,  where a high risk of disaster is expected.
