Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian, who is on an official visit to Tbilisi, met with the Georgian PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili  on Monday and discussed issues on the bilateral agenda.

Welcoming FM Nalbandian, Mr Kvirikashvili noted with satisfaction that the relations between the two neighborly peoples are progressively developing, high-level mutual visits contributing to this, Armenian MFA press-service reports.

Thanking for the reception, Nalbandian stressed that Armenia attaches great importance to the further deepening and expansion of cooperation with Georgia in different areas.

The interlocutors discussed in great detail various issues on the Armenian-Georgian agenda, specifically those related to the implementation of high-level agreements, trade and economic cooperation, diversification of transportation ways, collaboration in the sphere of energy, promotion of cultural exchanges and development of tourism. In this context, the importance of the activation of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental Committee was underscored.  

Kvirikashvili and Nalbandian also exchanged ideas on the preservation of the Armenian historical and cultural heritage in Georgia, as well as issues of concern to the Georgian Armenians.  

Apart from this, the Georgian PM and Armenian FM referred to the issues of strengthening cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

Nalbandian briefed Kvirikashvili on the efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards the implementation of the agreements regarding the Karabakh conflict reached in Vienna and St. Petersburg summits, which will enable to make progress in the peaceful settlement process of the Karabakh conflict.
