YEREVAN. - Tatul Tamrazyan, member of Sasna Tsrer armed group which had seized a police station in Yerevan, was arrested on Saturday.

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker districts satisfied the motion of the preliminary investigation body to arrest Tamrazyan for two months, Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent reports.  

Tatul Tamrzayan was brought to court from Erebouni Medical Center on an Ambulance, being taken into the building on a stretcher.

After the hearing, his attorney Monica Margaryan told journalists that after the decision was announced, Tamrazyan raised his hand and said: “Everything will be fine. This is only the beginning.”

Afterwards, Tatul Tamrazyan was taken to the Hospital for Inmates.

He faces charges under Article 235.3 ( Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive device) and 219.3 (1) ( Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation or communication) of the Armenian Criminal Code.

As reported earlier, Sasna Tser armed group members Armen Lambaryan and Tatul Tamrazyan were on Saturday moved to a hospital ward from the Intensive Care Unit of Erebouni Medical Center.

Tatul Tamrazyan was wounded on July 17, during a shootout which took place while storming the police station.
