The 101st anniversary of the 1915 genocide of Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks will be commemorated by a rally in North Hollywood.
Assembly member Adrin Nazarian and council member Paul Krekorian are among the elected officials planning to attend the event, KPCC reported.
The event is organized by the Assyrian-American Association of Southern California.
“This is the sort of history that needs to be remembered and honored and told so that my generation and my kids' generation and my grandchildren's generation can have that history live through them, so that what had happened doesn't go forgotten,” said Jon Koriel, representative of the Assyrian-American Association of Southern California.
