Two candidates have been nominated to run in the mayoral elections to be conducted in Armenia’s Kajaran town on September 18.

Zangezur Copper Molibdenum Combine mechanic Spartak Soghomonyan and Kajaran Municipality lawyer Manvel Paramazyan have been nominated, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) website reports.

Interestingly enough, Vardan Gevorgyan, who has been the City Mayor for 14 years, hasn’t been nominated. He told Armenian News – NEWS.am that this was his own decision, yet it is still unknown why he made such a decision.
