93 -year-old Lucia Hiriart, the widow of the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, is accused of embezzlement of millions of dollars and  illegal use of $100.000 from the Chilean state property, reports the Guardian.

It is reported that Pinochet's wife during the years of his husband’s presidency in Chile, 1973-1990, headed the funds of the Chilean mothers’ center, where dozens of objects of real estate were transferred to.

The deceased dictator's widow and daughters were the only members of the  Board of Directors. According to the publication, the investigators revealed that Lucia Hiriart had 118 properties that costed $ 123 million and illegally embezzled at least $ 10 million from their sale.

It is reported, that Lucia was selling the real estate, whereas the amount received from the sales was transferred abroad or just disappeared . Journalists and investigators believe that the money was laundered through Riggs Bank in Washington. The prosecutor’s office intends to present formal charges against Lucia.
