North Korea has shut down its embassy in Uzbekistan within the framework of a restructuring of its missions in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Yonhap reported quoting a diplomatic source in Tashkent.

It is reported that the decision on closing was made last month.

Currently, Russia is the only country among the CIS countries where North Korea keeps an embassy.

In 1998, North Korea closed its embassy in Kazakhstan.
