U.S. Navy sailor Kristian Saucier  has been sentenced to a year in prison for taking photos of classified areas inside a nuclear attack submarine Alexandria while it was in a port in Connecticut, The Guardian reported.

Also, he will have to serve six months of home confinement.

It is noted that in 2009 he took six photos inside the submarine, working on it as machinist. The photos showed the nuclear reactor compartment, the auxiliary steam propulsion panel and the maneuvering compartment. Saucier himself noted that wanted to show pictures of the workplace to his family.
