The works of Gülen are not allowed to import to Azerbaijan, reports Turan referring to the head of the Religious Department of the State Committee of  Azerbaijan for the Work with Religious Organizations Nahid Mammadov. According to him, the religious literature is not “banned”, but rather it is the experts who make a conclusion whether the imported literature is expedient or not.

Mammadov noted that the decision about inappropriateness to import Gülen's books to Azerbaijan has entered in force since 2008. The criterion for assessing inappropriate religious books is a threat to incite religious hostility , hatred , and superiority . The books associated with Gülen popularize superiority of Gülen community’s members. Therefore, they are considered inappropriate in Azerbaijan .
