YEREVAN. – The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia (RA), Arpine Hovhannisyan, speaking to Zhoghovurd daily, confirmed the information that the problem of the amount needed to introduce the new system of preparing the voters’ lists and collecting voters’ fingerprints was resolved, according to the newspaper.

“More specifically, international organizations have assured that they will provide the respective amount: about 16 million euros.

“But it’s all the same. The RA authorities are not going to introduce the new system.

‘“Negotiations are underway with a specialized organization, which noted that the technical equipment envisioned for the introduction of the ten fingerprints will not be possible to secure before the year’s end. Thereafter, negotiations were conducted associated with two fingerprints. But it was noted that in this regard, too, that a four month-time is required,’ the minister explained,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
