Azerbaijani banks have suspended sale of foreign currency since August 30.

As foreign sources reported, Respublika bank did not explain reason for the termination of sales noting only that this decision was taken within the bank. AtaBank and AFB banks said that they have not been selling dollars for several days. Nikoil bank said that they stopped the sale of all types of foreign currency on August 30.

It should be noted that during an auction a day ago 29 commercial banks purchased $50 million exposed by State Oil Fund of the country. According to informal data, the demand for sale was several times higher.
