YEREVAN. – Armenia needs to include both Iran and Russia in the new free economic zone in Meghri town, near the border with Iran, Eurasian Experts’ Club member, political scientist Aram Safaryan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

As per Safaryan, this free economic zone, whose project is being discussed, will help Armenia develop new industrial projects in the southern part of the country, and help export finished products.

“And the Russian capital’s participation is important in this matter because the main buyer of Armenia’s finished industrial products is Russia itself, and the [other] EAEU [i.e. Eurasian Economic Union] countries,” added the analyst.
