The Azerbaijani opposition has given up on the rallies because of the arrests and the pressure from the authorities.

The National Council will thus not hold a rally on September 24, Report writes.

According to the member of the National Council Coordination Center, Eldeniz Guliyev, the reason behind giving up on the rallies has to do with the events which took place during the recent protest. ''As you know, several activists were arrested at the recent sanctioned rally. Considering this, we will not hold a rally.''
