At least 32 people are killed in a wave of violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo , reports the Xinhua based on the announcement of the police. The opposition , in its turn, introduces its own data . According to opposition leaders, more than 50 people were killed in crossfire; many people were killed during peaceful demonstrations.

The current situation in Congo was initiated as a result of protests against the country's president. The opposition claims that the police opened fire on demonstrators.
