YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Tuesday received a delegation from the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR).

The delegation was led by Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of Diocese of Armenian Church of America (Eastern), and FAR President, Press Office of the President of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Sargsyan lauded FAR’s long-standing patriotic activities in the 1988 earthquake disaster zone, in numerous other settlements in Armenia, and in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

In addition, the President handed to philanthropists Edward and Janet Mardigian a high state award: the 1st Degree Medal for Services to Homeland. This medal was granted to them several days ago, on the occasion of 25th independence anniversary of Armenia, and for their substantial contribution to the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora ties.

President Serzh Sargsyan also responded to the questions posed by those in attendance to the talk.
