YEREVAN. – The world community has to exert necessary pressure on Azerbaijan to prevent possible hostilities in Karabakh, said Baroness Caroline Cox during a lecture in Yerevan on Saturday.

Baroness Cox said she had paid a regular visit to Nagorno-Karabakh three weeks ago. The population of Karabakh has suffered greatly because of a tragedy in April when Azerbaijan committed brutal acts against civilians, she said during a lecture organized by the Active Youth Organization.

Baroness hopes that the world community will press Azerbaijan in order to prevent hostilities and put an end to aggressive anti-Armenian propaganda sowing hatred in the Azerbaijani society.

Member of the British House of Lords hopes Azerbaijan will become more civilized and less barbaric in its attitude towards political prisoners and less aggressive towards Armenia.
