YEREVAN. - Armenia and Argentina have developed good bilateral cooperation traditions in the area of agriculture.

Armenian Minister of Agriculture Ignati Arakelyan said the aforementioned at the meeting with the Argentine Ambassador to Armenia Gonzalo Urriolabeitia on Monday.

Irriolabeitia noted that the agricultural sector has a special significance for the Armenian-Argentinean economic cooperation, the press-service of the Armenian Agriculture Ministry reports.

For his part, Ignati Arakelyan noted: ''Armenia and Argentina have developed good traditions of bilateral cooperation in the area of agriculture. Besides, there are precise preconditions for its deepening. We are ready to provide support in all directions of the Argentine experience and technological progress to find application in different branches of our country's agriculture.''

Noting the high-level of cooperation between the two countries, the Argentine Ambassador stated that in the recent years the specialists of both countries have paid mutual visits to study possible ways of cooperation in the area of agriculture, exchange of experience and implementation of joint programs. In this context the subsequent visit of Argentinean specialists to Armenia is expected in November.

Urriolabeitia also noted that the representatives of the Regional Consortium for Agricultural Experimentation (CREA) will arrive in Armenia Tuesday to meet with Agriculture Ministry representatives. During the meeting professional discussions on issues concerning milk production and growing tomatoes will take place. Apart from this, a seminar is planned to be held in the framework of Armprodexpo international exhibition.
