YEREVAN. - The Government program proposes to attract low-cost airlines to Shirak Airport of Gyumri, the second largest city of Armenia.

Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA), Sergey Avetisyan, told the aforementioned to journalists after the extraordinary Cabinet session, during which the new Government program was adopted.

In his words, it is necessary to facilitate the procedure of issuing licenses to the airlines operating in Armenia.

“This will increase the competition between the airlines, thanks to which the ticket prices will lower,” he stated.
