Armenian Premier Karen Karapetyan on Thursday attended the subsequent session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Belarus, the Government press-service informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In his speech, Karapetyan expressed conviction that all of them share the position that the international cooperation carried out in direction of forming foreign trade policy and deepening ties with third countries and key integration unions is first of all aimed at contributing to the modernization of the national economy of member states and raising their competitiveness.

According to him, the expansion of international and multi-format cooperation should be based on genuine preconditions and be built considering the genuine readiness of third countries to establish cooperation both with each EAEU member-state separately and the EAEU generally.

“Considering the presence of different legal regulations in member-states, we fully share the approach based on ensuring the lawfulness of the turnover of goods through introduction of traceability mechanism in EAEU customs territory.

This mechanism should be introduced so that its application doesn’t contradict one of the pillars of our union – the freedom of transporting goods. Thus, we are ready to actively cooperate with states to discuss the issues existing in that connection.

The Armenian Premier also expressed hope that the joint efforts aimed at implementing the agreements reached Thursday will allow to achieve significant progress in integration processes.

“Armenian side is ready for closest cooperation with its partners,” he added.
