Russia’s general consulate in Gyumri did not comment on killing of two soldiers in the Russian military base located in Gyumri.

Russia’s general consulate does not comment on the incident due to lack of sufficient information, general consulate employee told NEWS.am.

As NEWS.am reported earlier referring to the press service of the Armenian police, two servicemen had been murdered at the Russian military base.

At 5:00 p.m., local time, Oct 23, the Erebuni police department received the information from the Gyumri-base military unit. The bodies of contract servicemen, 27-year-old Armen Zakaryan and 39-year-old Artur Yenokyan (both are citizens of the Russian Federation), with multiple stab and slash wounds were found in one of the restrooms at 09:39 a.m. Oct 23.

The Military Investigation Department of the RF Investigation Committee is conducting an investigation.
