On September 3, 2009 International Boxing Association (AIBA) decided to expel Azeri coach Salam Bağırov from World Boxing Championship in Milan, for “actions against Association’s Ethnic and Disciplinary Code”, Baklilar.az reports.
The Association received a report from a technical delegate that Bagirov, the referee of 169 fight (Azerbaijan-Ecuador) used a cell phone at the match, therefore was immediately expelled from the competition.

Besides, a decision was made to ban Bagirov from the World Boxing Championship and a warning was issued to Azerbaijan. In case any Azerbaijani sportsman violates a rule of the Code, the whole team will be left out from the championship.
