Famous French actor and director, a good friend of Armenians Gerard Depardieu expressed his readiness to render assistance during fund-raising organized by the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund.

The relevant statement is posted on YouTube, said independent French journalist Jean Eckian.

This September Gerard Depardieu visited Armenia and was awarded by Karot 2010 festival held in Yerevan. He also got a Medal of Honor by the Armenian Parliament.

All-Armenian Hayastan Fund is engaged in organization of charity projects in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. This year’s “Water Is Life” Telethon will be held on November 25. Proceeds from the telethon will benefit the development of modern drinking and irrigation water systems in Nagorno-Karabakh’s 200 villages.

At the annual gala night with participation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian businessmen of Russia promised to allocate $8 m to the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund. The names of benefactors and the amounts will be issued o November 25 during the telethon.
