Official Teheran believes external forces impede the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.

The region’s enemies do not want the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to be settled, APA reports, referring to Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Muhammad Bagir Bahrami.

Iran is for a speedy settlement of the conflict, as well as for re-establishment of peace and stability in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity from the very beginning and has always supported “Azerbaijan’s rightful cause” at all international agencies.

Earlier, during his visit to Yerevan, Iranian FM Manouchehr Mottaki stated that Teheran is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan in resolving the conflict.

On April 20, Tigran Balayan, Spokesman for the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated the Armenian foreign office was refraining from any comments on Iran’s initiative.
