Talking to NEWS.am, spokesperson of the Armenian President Armen Arzumanyan confirmed press reports saying Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan kidnapped and violently beat up the employee of protocol department of the Armenian presidential staff Aram Kandayan.
“Unfortunately, the incident took place. Of course, the Armenian press exaggerated certain facts, in particular there was no kidnapping and violent beating but the incident definitely took place,” he said.
