The Astana declaration is not a new step. However, repetition of certain rules and commitments under new circumstances is considered something new in diplomacy, Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski told NEWS.am.

According to him, the declaration confirms inviolability of three principles for Karabakh conflict resolution is positive. “The declaration does not contain new elements, but it registered certain progress in the current situation,” the diplomat said.

On the occasion of the OSCE Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, the Heads of Delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries (the President of the Russian Federation Dmitri Medvedev, the Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon, and the Secretary of State of the United States Hillary Rodham Clinton), the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Armenia Serge Sargsian agreed that the time has come for more decisive efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Karabakh conflict is one of the focal points discussed at the summit. Commenting on the issue, the speakers use wordings of the Armenian side.
