Armenia is the 10th country to launch the 4G Internet communication network. The VivaCel-MTS Company has launched the new system using the LTE technology. Journalists that visited the Viva-Cell office have been acquainted with the new network today, Dec. 20. The designed channel capacity is 150 Mbps (download) and 50 Mbps (upload) respectively. This super-high speed Internet communication enhances the quality of internet services. The new network is available at the Kentron and Arabkir communities. However, Ralph Yirikian, Viva-Cell General Manager, promised that the network will be available in Gyumri and Vanadzor, as well as in other regions, next year.

Armenia is the first regional country to switch over to the 4G system. In this context, Ralph Yirikian stated that Armenia is the regional leader in telecommunications.

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, who attended the presentation, pointed out Armenia’s enhanced IT competitiveness. “Just two years ago we were behind our neighbors in Internet availability, prices and services. However, Armenia has more favorable conditions for IT development now,” the Premier said.
