The Oritants Yerkir (Rule of Law) party appreciates President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the convention on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

“The speech was a sobering signal to all the officials that do not bide by law, do not properly perform their duties and unaware of what politics is. I think they will draw conclusions,” Head of the Rule of Law parliamentary faction Heghine Bisharyan told NEWS.am.

She also emphasized the parts of the President’s speech dealing with women’s role in Armenia’s socio-political life. “It is most important that the President should have stressed the need for involving women in the country’s socio-political life,” Bisharyan said.

She also underlined the importance of corruption control. “Of high importance are also the President’s words about strong Opposition, which is a guarantee of the authorities’ efficient activities,” Bisharyan said. The President is not only critical of negative phenomena in the country, but he is also taking steps to fight them. The recent cabinet reshuffle is evidence thereof. “The most important thing is that the President begins with his own team. The other political forces should follow suit and recall the officials failing in their duties. If this principle is followed, positive changes will soon be appreciable,” Bisharyan said.

In his speech on the occasion of the RPA’s 20th anniversary President Serzh Sargsyan was severely critical of the negative phenomena in the country. He stressed the need for eradicating them.
