2010 was marked by increasing migration and constantly growing poverty rate, Armenian MP Viktor Dalakyan told NEWS.am summing up 2010 results. He also recalled that there are about 1 million people below poverty level in Armenia.

“A total of 1.5 m people have migrated from Armenia since1991, it is equal to number of people killed during the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. Unfortunately, the Armenian authorities yielded no results in overcoming these two problems, the number of people below poverty rate increased for 200,000,” MP stated.

Dalakyan also pointed out positive breakthrough in foreign policy, especially regarding the Karabakh issue. “The Armenian authorities managed to neutralize some negative processes while solving the Karabakh problem which gave President Sargsyan an opportunity to take break and carry out structural reforms. I think that Serzh Sargsyan will be determined in implementing the reforms,” he resumed.
