According to information at NEWS.am’s disposal, three candidates to the post of the Armenian Agriculture Minister are considered at the moment. Among the possible candidates are Hrachya Berberyan, chairman of Agricultural Association of Armenia, president of ArtFood company Sergey Karapetyan, and former Transport Minister Eduard Madatyan.

Among three mentioned candidates only Eduard Madatyan is a member of the Orinats Yerkir party. He has recently joined the party and is heading Erebuni office. In case Berberyan or Karapetyan are appointed to the post they will have to join the Orintas Yerkir party.

Today Madatyan stated he has not received such a proposal yet but will not refuse if he is offered.

At the Dec. 26 session, the political council of the Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party made a decision to recall Armenian Agricultural Minister Gerasim Alaverdyan from his post. Speaking to the journalists party’s leader Arthur Baghdasaryan said the new minister’s name will be clear in 2011.
