Arik Manukyan, director of “An Interrupted Song” film made in Russia, was interviewed by the Azerbaijani Turan news agency.

The plot is as follows: during the Nagorno-Karabakh war an Armenian and Azerbaijani fall into the same deep hole. Put into a corner men start a dialogue. Each of them starts telling about problems that cause him pain. The main roles are played by Armenian and Azerbaijani actors.  The film is sponsored by young Armenians living in Moscow.

According to Arik Manukyan, the idea of a film originated two years ago, but due to financial problems, they were forced to postpone the shooting. Filming began in autumn 2010. “We have started work with our own money. Film’s producer Ashot Poghosyan sold his car and invested the full amount in a movie. We need additional funds to show the film in Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as in foreign countries. We are ready to discuss all the proposals,” Manukyan said.

He noted that the film will be ready in late May. The first run of the film will take place in Moscow. It will be also screened in Armenia, Azerbaijan, USA, Georgia, Turkey, India, the Middle East and some Balkan countries.
