Head of the Armenian delegation to the CE Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) David Harutyunyan has left for Strasbourg today, January 21. The other members of the Armenian delegation are to leave for Strasbourg on January 23.

PACE is to start its winter session on January 24. Naira Zohrabyan, an Armenian delegation member, told NEWS.am that no Armenia-related issues are on the session agenda. However, a number of issues may, in some way or another, concern Armenia. Zohrabyan intends to speak about three issues on the agenda: CE reforms, exchange of POWs and migration problems.

She also intends to demand answers to questions of importance for the Armenian people from the Turkish President and Minister of Foreign Affairs. They both are to speak at the sinter session and present their opinions on Turkish chairmanship of the CE Ministers` Council. Zohrabyan also expressed her concern over the fact that Turkey`s chairmanship of the CE Ministers` Committee will consolidate Turkey`s positions in the CE, as PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu is a Turk as well. In this context, it raises the possibility of Cavusoglu’s idea for forming a PACE committee on Nagorno-Karabakh being put into practice. “If such a committee is set up, the Armenian delegation must boycott its activities,” Zohrabyan said.
