Good neighborly relations between Armenia and Georgia will become possible only when the problems of Javakhk Armenians are solved, reads the statement by the movement on protection of rights of Javakhk Armenians.
Armenian-Georgian relations should be based on solution to civil, religious, cultural, educational and other problems of Javakhk Armenians, it says.
The members of the movement are confident good relations cannot be established between the countries unless Armenian language and Armenian churches get legal status in Georgia, the Georgian Samkhretis Karibche newspaper reported.
Javakhk (Georgian name – Javakheti) is an Armenian-populated part of Georgia’s southeastern Samtskhe-Javakheti province.
