YEREVAN. - MPs from Heritage and Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) parties met with the delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on Tuesday.

The sides discussed issues on Karabakh peace process, as well as situation in the contact line between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces.

Head of “Heritage” parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan said that Karabakh conflict resolution has no alternative, as Karabakh people carried out their right to self-determination and decolonization, as the former Soviet States.

ARFD member Hrayr Karapetyan expressed concern that the international community fails to give adequate response to frequent acts of sabotage by Azerbaijan on the frontline. He also referred to reforms in military and law enforcement spheres supported by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.

President of the OSCE PA Petros Efthimiou  stressed that a peaceful resolution to the conflict, the communication between the conflicting parties, confidence building measures, withdrawal of snipers from the contact line are priority issues for the OSCE. He reiterated the OSCE’s position that the Minsk Group is the most experienced and specialized platform for Karabakh conflict settlement and shifting it to another format will not be of any benefit.
