A fall in import of vehicles has been registered in Armenia this year. Armenia imported 42,000 cars in 2008 and 17,000 in 2009 respectively. Meanwhile, the imports of vehicles of Russian production decreased 3,4-5 times, Hayots Ashkharh newspaper reports. 

The import volume of foreign cars has increased in 2011. During the first quarter of this year, Armenia has imported 755 cars against 247 as compared to the same period last year.

It is noteworthy that the price of Mercedes Benz was decreased by AMD 340,000, while the price of Niva increased by AMD 1,4 million. A new make of Niva is purchased at U.S. $ 15,000 this year. “Zhiguli-07” in the Armenian market is worth $ 10 million or AMD 3,655,000.
