YEREVAN.- Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt called to use any opportunity to achieve progress in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Commenting on military rhetoric of Azerbaijan, especially the statement that hostilities will resume unless progress is registered in Kazan, Bildt said he would be very cautious and would not say more than he did in Baku.

“We consider there is no alternative to peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict. Peaceful settlement requires compromise,” he said at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart in Yerevan.

Minister Bildt is on a visit to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia from June 12 to 15.
