YEREVAN. - Kapan police department received an alerted about a murder on 16 M. Stepanyan street of Kapan.

Police task group revealed that in a dispute over household and personal issues, Kapan resident Karen Atayan, 28, stabbed to death Henirkh Mkrtchyan, 58. The victim was stabbed 18 times with knife and died on the site, photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the neighbors Karen Atayan suffers with schizophrenia mental illness.

A criminal case has been initiated. Forensic medical expertise is underway.
