Armenian and Russian experts consider resumption of war unlikely in the Karabakh conflict zone.

Baku will not dare to exercise its military threats, as such decisions depend on the international community rather than on Baku, Head of Armenian branch of Institute CIS States Alexander Markarov stated at a Yerevan-Moscow space bridge. He stressed Turkey pours water into Azerbaijan’s “military mill”, which provokes Baku to toughen its positions on the Karabakh issue.

“It pushes the Armenian side to tougher stance on the conflict as well,” the expert noted.

Political expert Karen Bekaryan stressed if Baku was ready to resort to military operations, it would exercise them.

“The paradox is Azerbaijan was able to convince the international community that refusal of its military intentions is a big concession by Baku,” he said.

Vladimir Zakharov, head of the Moscow Institute of Political and Social Studies in the Black Sea and Caspian Region said the Azerbaijani army is poor morally and spiritually.

“Azerbaijanis will hardly want to fight for Nagorno-Karabakh. Russian Azerbaijanis say they will not fight for Nagorno-Karabakh, as they do not need it. Moreover, the Azeri President will hardly dare to resume hostilities, as  he will be labeled as an aggressor, whereas Aliyev wants to appear before the international community as a pacifist,” he concluded
