Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II left for a visit to Latvia on June 29.

Priest Khosrov Stepanyan, head of Armenian community Arno Ter-Sahakov and other representatives of the Armenian community met His Holiness Karekin II at the airport.

At the meeting with Latvia’s President Valdis Zatlers, Karekin II expressed his gratitude for the authorities’ friendly attitude towards the local Armenian community.

Zatlers welcomed the Armenian spiritual leader’s visit to Latvia and highly appreciated the Armenian community’s contribution to the cultural life of Latvia. He congratulated His Holiness Karekin II on the construction St Grigor the Illuminator church.

Karekin II conducted the ordination ceremony and liturgy at St Grigor the Illuminator church in Riga on Thursday, Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

His Holiness Karekin II will return to Yerevan on Friday
