Raffi K. Hovannisian, leader of Armenia’s Heritage Party and founder of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies, took part between September 7 and 10 in the XXI Economic Forum known as “Davos East”.

The international conclave brought together hundreds of European presidents and ministers, politicians and diplomats, scholars and journalists to discuss the strategic, geopolitical, socioeconomic, and ethical challenges facing the world in the new era.

Hovannisian addressed the conference, together with Turkish, Azerbaijani and Slovakian participants, on the theme of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence and regional security.  He also attended and commented during specialized panels on crimes against humanity and interstate reconciliation in the European continent and on the future of the Commonwealth of Independent States, party’s press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Actively representing Armenia at the forum were also MPs Ara Nranyan and Artak Davtyan, Slavonic University vice rector Edward Sandoyan, Artush Mkrtchyan of the Caucasus Business and Development Network, and president Ashot Grigoryan of the Forum of Armenian Associations in Europe.

In the margins of the meeting, Raffi Hovannisian met with scores of European statesmen and specialists.  He also traveled to nearby Nowy Sacz to speak with the 200 participants in the Sixth Economic Forum of Young Leaders.

Before his return to Yerevan, Hovannisian visited Krakow and its Armenian Saturday School, where he met with community activists, teachers and students.  He also paid tribute to the victims of the Genocide and Great National Dispossession at the Armenian khatchkar located in the city.
