YEREVAN. - President of France Nicolas Sarkozy accompanied by his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan visited on Thursday the Memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

In the course of his state visit to Armenia he laid a wreath at the monument and got familiarized with exhibits of the Armenian Genocide Museum.

He left a message in the memory book saying “France is not forgetting”. Sarkozy also planted a fir in the Memory Alley near the memorial complex.

Back in 2001 France recognized the Armenian Genocide.
