YEREVAN. - U.S. remains committed to the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told journalists in Yerevan.

He stressed that work is carried out within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and new meetings are expected. Heffern recalled that American Co-Chair Robert Bradtke is actively working with his Russian and French colleagues and no changes in their work are planned.

Asked about Azerbaijan’s military rhetoric and arms race initiated by the official Baku, the Ambassador recalled the Deauville statement issues by heads of the co-chairing states, also related to warlike statements and arms race. Thus, the Minsk Group co-chairing states clearly voiced their position on the issue, he stressed.
