YEREVAN. - Newly appointed US Ambassador stated his point on the Armenian Genocide.

The U.S. envoy responded to the journalists’ questions on Monday regarding the inner conflict of former U.S. Ambassadors as they partially recognized the issue, but could not voice it. Heffern said that he is proud of representing the U.S. President Barack Obama and the State Secretary Hillary Clinton. He dwelt on the fact that Obama had clearly stated U.S. position on the issue and Heffern fully supports it.

Barack Obama did not use the word genocide but said ‘Mets Yeghern,’ which means ‘Great Atrocity’ in Armenian.
